Fish oil and omega-3 fatty acids

Fish oil is naturally high in omega-3 fatty acids, especially EPA and DHA. Omega-3s are important constituents of the cell membrane and help maintain the suppleness and elasticity of blood vessels. Maintenance of the fluidity of the cell membrane is important for various processes in the membrane which play a role in the function of the cell. DHA is also a major structural component of the brain and retina.

Omega-3s have an anti-inflammatory action in the body, may help maintain healthy bones and help maintain a healthy cardiovascular system. While science is still discovering all the ways in which EPA & DHA may help maintain heart health, we do know that they help promote a healthy cardiovascular system and reducing the body's production of inflammatory compounds.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is required by the body for overall health and wellbeing. It plays a vital role in regulating calcium levels within the body, and therefore is important for healthy bones and bone density. It is also important for the health and strength of muscles, and may help reduce the risk of falls in the elderly through helping to maintain muscle function. In addition, healthy vitamin D levels are required for normal immune function.

Dosage:

Adults - take 2 capsules a day with a meal, or as professionally prescribed.

Children under 12 years- take 1 capsule a day (pierce and squeeze into milk, juice or cereal), or as professionally prescribed.
