The Beauty Shake

The trick lies in choosing the right foods to keep hunger under control. Foods that are highly processed or high in simple sugars deliver instant satisfaction but do not keep us full for long. On the other hand, foods rich in protein and dietary fibre will keep the feeling of hunger away for a lot longer.

In the past 15 years working in the food industry, I have come across a huge number of products claiming to deliver various health claims and benefits. Many weight loss products promise miraculous and fast results without much effort. A large proportion of these health claims has none or very limited scientific evidence behind it.

I have been experimenting with various ingredients throughout my professional life and sharing these with my family, friends and colleagues. I was often asked why I don’t launch my own line of products. So finally I did and I am proud to bring you The Beauty Shake!

Why Marine Collagen?

Collagen is the most abundant protein in our bodies. It is found in our skin, bones, muscles, tendons, blood vessels and even our teeth. Collagen’s main function is to sustain tendons, skin and cartilage. It provides integrity, firmness and elasticity to their structures.

Collagen is what keeps our skin elastic and is responsible for replacing dead skin cells. As we age, our bodies naturally produce less collagen. Elasticity and firmness of the skin decline. Signs of skin ageing such as wrinkles form, hydration decreases and joint cartilages weaken. Contributing factors to skin ageing include genes, hormones, exposure to the sun, smoking and pollution.

The challenge is to deliver highly bioavailable and bioactive collagen to our body to absorb and use as building blocks for collagen synthesis in places where required. The Beauty Shake contains marine collagen peptides obtained by unique hydrolysis of α1 and α2 chains of type 1 collagen from skins of sustainably farmed fish, resulting in a highly effective and easily absorbed form of collagen.
