Testing Blood Glucose
Wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and dry them well.
Insert a test strip into the meter to turn on the meter.
Next, verify the code number. After the code number has been displayed, the test strip symbol with a flashing blood drop symbol appears. At this point, the acoustic signal sounds, if it is turned on.
The blood drop symbol indicates the meter is ready to perform a blood glucose test.
With a lancing device such as Accu-Chek Softclix or Accu-Chek Multiclix, lance the side of your fingertip (or alternate site if appropriate).
Touch the tip of the test strip to a small blood sample. The hour glass symbol is displayed and the meter beeps (only if the beep tone has been turned on). After approximately 5 seconds, the measured result is displayed and the meter beeps (only if the beep tone has been turned on).
The result is automatically stored with time and date in the memory.
For more information on how to use your meter, please see your Accu-Chek Go Owner’s Booklet.
